May 21, 2016 · Adjust them by firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4, understand that 1&6 - 2&5 - 3&4 are stroked together. Turn engine in normal direction of rotation while watching the valves on #6 when the exhaust valve closes and intake just starts to open, adjust #1. Then by firing order next to adjust is #5 so watch #2, to adjust #3 watch #4, to adjust #6 watch #1 ... If the linkage is just kinda sitting there and twitching without putting any force on the arm, look at the linkages. BTW, even is it is something internal, its likely not a hard fix. Pull the floor plate, and then the speed cover...fix the roller cam assm, forks, etc, and drop them back into place.Exactly my point, there was the 1440/60, then later also a 1420/1480/1470. This was long before even 1990. Then came the next series with the 1620/40/60/70/80 and then the 1644/66/88. This was about mid-90's, think the first 2100's were around 1997/8.
