The buses were handy, but would only recommend people to fly if the flight is direct. Example, flights from Mendoza, or Salta to Bariloche goes via Buenos Aires. Including the transit hours, it would take almost a full day and the cost is so much more.I think most people at this forum will disagree, but I think ten days is enough to visit both cities. I'd allow more days to Buenos Aires than Santiago. Buenos Aires is a bigger city, with a lots of cultural life and very interesting museums. Flying over the Andes when travelling between those cities is an amazing experience.Even the police will warn you not to go outside the tourist area. 6. Re: Safety in La Boca. I walked around La Boca with a female friend in the daytime without any incident, stopped had coffee and ice cream, found the area to be very quiet, then walked to San Telmo from there.
